Whoever thought that after 25 years, losing your job due to the economic downturn would be such a big deal. After all I have the qualifications and experience to pick up another job - right? It turns out that things aren't quite as easy as all that. I have gone to all the references my friends and colleagues could come up with, I troll the job sites daily and fill in plenty of applications for anything that resembles a job I can do. To date this has proven worthless.
The funny part about it is, I know I can really add value in each of the positions I apply for, but obviously the recruiter/ HR person doesn't see that same value.
That is why I have started this Blog, to share a bit more about myself and hopefully in the process let someone reading another of my job applications find out I am more than just my CV.
